OVERVIEW

Every year TheUberman.com works with the Uberman Educational Foundation to provide assistance to students all over the world. Our goal is to provide opportunities for students who exhibit originality, passion, and creativity in their work and in their lives.

2009 UBERMAN SCHOLARSHIPS

TheUberman.com “I AM a Superhero” Scholarship Award

The Uberman Educational Foundation is offering an award of $1,000 to the student who best answers the following question:

If you were a superhero, what powers would you have and how would you use them to change the world?

Be creative. We’ve all seen X-Men and Ironman and the slew of superhero movies that have populated our box offices for the past 10 years. If you too had super powers, what would they be? What would you do with them? Would you wear a costume while in action? What would you look like? Would you be a secret agent while inconspicuously causing change or would you reveal yourself to the public? How would you deal with the challenges that you might face? Would you be the anti-hero or the hero that schoolchildren dream of being when they grow up? Be CREATIVE!

HOW TO APPLY

To successfully apply for the scholarship you must do the following four things:

1. Create a 2 – 5 minute video or 300 word “essay” that best answers the question:

If you were a superhero, what powers would you have and how would you use them to change the world?

2. If you decide to create a video, go to http://www.youtube.com/group/uberman and submit it. If you decide to write an essay, email it to us at .

3. If you have a blog or website (personal website/blog, FaceBook or MySpace blog, Blogger account, Wordpress blog, etc.), post your video or essay and then add this link (http://theuberman.com/scholarships) somewhere in the post! (If you don’t have a website or blog, please skip this step.)

4. Email us at with the following information:

Name, Address, Phone #, YouTube video link , and blog link (if applicable). Include your essay within the email body if you choose to write instead. This email serves as your official award application.

After the deadline has closed, the Uberman Board of Education will watch and/or read all the submissions and offer $1,000 to the most creative, thoughtful, and impressive entry. Video production value is appreciated but not necessary. All submissions should express your passion; showcase your writing ability, video production creativity, superhero prowess, and your interest in using your superhero powers in innovative ways. It’s all about how you can make us feel. Does your story about rescuing children from burning buildings or abusive families make us want to cry? Nice. Will I laugh at your awesome superhero costume or your creative power? Sweet. Creativity and Passion Are King.

AWARDS

One $1,000 cash scholarship will be awarded to the applicant that best answers the question: If you were a superhero, what powers would you have and how would you use them to change the world? The winner will also receive exposure on TheUberman.com website.

DEADLINE

All essays and videos must be submitted by April 15, 2009.

ELIGIBILITY

TheUberman.com “I AM a Superhero” Scholarship Award is open to all students all over the world. You don’t need to be attending an accredited university to apply. You can be a student at a trade school, beauty school, or community college; a practicing Buddhist monk, an amateur geologist, even a student of “Life”. The recipient of the scholarship award will be determined by the Uberman Board of Education based on the adherence to the application rules and the quality of the applicant’s submission. Quality will be judged by the creativity, passion, and style of the submission. The essay or video winner will be announced on http://TheUberman.com on May 5, 2009.
