3 Reasons Why Your Energy Matters

And What to do About it By Holly Lewis

Understanding the power of energy that lies within us is one of the greatest ways to gain access to a new world of “work” or of creation.  In Latin, the word energy literally means “in work” and when considering it this way, the energy that I use throughout the day, which is manifest through eating, sleeping, exercise, and all that nourishes my physical, mental, and spiritual body is actually involved in “work”.  I prefer to use the term creation in lieu of work however, as it offers a more pleasing connotation, something which inspires me to utilize even more energy in a way that has a certain end result in mind, which allows me to focus on something and really hone in on its purpose in my life.

The first law of thermodynamics is that energy is neither created nor destroyed.  You can never “create” energy and can never “destroy” it.  Think about this for a minute.  You cannot create new energy.  This means that every shred of energy you use each day was already there, somewhere in you, in what you consume, in what you touch, in everything around you.  Energy everywhere.  Additionally, the energy that is within you and around you cannot be destroyed.  By this law, which is assumed true based on scientific research, observation and attempts to understand the Universe, we are granted access to a limitless pool of energy, one which cannot be created (it’s already here!!!) and one which can never (never!) be destroyed.

Now within this first law, though energy may never be created or destroyed, it may always be converted.  This then also grants us access to a realm without limits.  The energy around us and within us is always convertible.  So this source of everything called energy need not be created, as it’s already there, and we need not worry about it’s vanishing, as it won’t, yet all the while we are granted the stupendous ability to convert it in whatever way we choose?!!  That’s right.  Convertible it is my friends.  Welcome to your life.

The second law of thermodynamics follows that through conversion, some energy is lost, which usually manifests through heat loss.  This means that during any attempt on your part to take energy and convert it into another form of energy, you may lose some energy.  This energy is not destroyed mind you.  It simply escapes your grasp.  So this energy moves about to some other element, passed off into the Universe and eventually comes back to each of us.  So through the conversion process that occurs when we take one form of energy and shift gears, some of that energy stored up moves out into the great beyond and infiltrates the sphere of another living organism.  This process is part of what makes the world’s functions possible on a daily basis.  Perhaps it is even all of what makes it possible.

Energy conversion obviously occurs in many interesting ways.  We are beginning an “Age of New Energy” in which many are focused on altering the energy they use, it’s impact, and thus how it affects the world, and where it goes, during conversion processes.  Likewise, this New Energy is a timeless realm that has always and will always exist within us.  We are all capable of converting energy in highly impactful and concentrated ways which stimulates the transfer of energy to other places.  This process is part of what connects each and every human being, each life form from the birds in the sky to the worms in the soil.  Through awareness, we can transmutate energy within ourselves to create even more efficient forms of ourselves, which in effect promotes the use of energy and its conversion in others.  Through energy transfer and conversion, we are the very “fossil fuels” of the living, breathing organism that is present within each individual and thus our entire global population of life forms.

Your Energy matters for three reasons:

1.) You and I are one.  We share the same energy, the same breath, the same existence across time and space.  Without you, there is no me.

2.) Through understanding your energy and converting it, honing in on its ability and more efficient forms of being, you are a part of an ageless and indestructible force which results in the creation of all that makes life worth living.  Your energy=Life, Art, Harmony, Peace, Gratitude, Discovery, Humanity.

3.) Your energy is the sole link to joy, success, happiness, and mastery.  Energy is access to everything you value, hold dear, love, and enjoy.  Your hopes, dreams, and aspirations for yourself, those near you, the world as a whole, are all inherently located within your energy.

Want to get in touch with energy conversion?  Try investing some time in certain physical and mental sharpening activities, as well as learning more about YOU.  Yoga, meditation, prayer, writing (journaling about your life, your goals), and of course continually learning all enhance energy exchanges, energy use, and most importantly, they put you in a better space, one in which you can truly learn to harness your energy and convert it when necessary. Getting outside and experiencing the natural world in a real and raw way can also connect you to your energy, the source of that energy, and how it is most efficiently used.  Knowing that you have the power to convert your energy is the key, however, and believing in that means believing in your own ability to be BE adaptable, flexible, and energy-filled.  This aspect is particularly important for those who have lost sight of their personal energy and its vitality, strength, and integrity.

Inspiration exists, but it has to find us working.

Give me a museum and I’ll fill it.

God is really only another artist. He invented the giraffe, the elephant and the cat. He has no real style, He just goes on trying other things.

Only put off until tomorrow what you are willing to die having left undone.

The world today doesn’t make sense, so why should I paint pictures that do?

When I die, it will be a shipwreck, and as when a huge ship sinks, many people all around will be sucked down with it.
